Trainingsprogramma - functionele elektrostimulatie

Functionele elektrostimulatie (FES) heeft zijn waarde bewezen al sinds de 60er jaren. FES wordt direct of indirect via de motoneuronen toegediend. Functionele Elektrostimulatie kan een waardevolle toevoeging zijn op traditionele therapie, met name bij personen met neurologische aandoeningen. Wij nodigen u van harte uit op de volgende cursussen.

De cursussen worden gegeven in het Engels. Er is echter permanent een native speaker in de buurt voor verduidelijking of voor het beantwoorden van uw specifiekevragen.

1) Introduction to Functional Electrical Stimulation

Training contents 

• Introduction of electrotechnical and electrophysiological basics
• Getting to know motor learning and biofeedback-oriented learning of movements 
• Introduction of electrical therapy as well as of functional electrical stimulation and the effects of the same on the human body 
• Use of current types and parameter settings in therapeutic practice 
• Application-specific placement of electrodes 
• Stimulation of functional movement patterns 
• Biofeedback and EMG - triggered electrical stimulation in the application 
• Practice-relevant tips and explanation of the body of evidence

2) Special seminar “Functional Electrical Stimulation for dorsal flexor weakness”

Deepen your knowledge and learn more about the use of Functional Electrical Stimulation in gait training. You will learn about another additive therapeutic option available for people with dorsal flexor weakness. Principles of electrophysiology and gait analysis are implemented directly during practical workshops and are the base of a successful multi-channel stimulation during the gait cycle.

Training contents:

• Pathophysiology and frequency of dorsal flexor paresis 
• Presentation of various fitting options in case of dorsal flexor paresis
• Indications in surface stimulation 
• Electrophysiological principles
• Basics of the gait cycle 
• One-channel stimulation & multiple-channel stimulation in the gait cycle 
• Gait evaluation and assessment 
• Evidence electrical stimulation for dorsal flexor paresis
